Cloud Migration Services

Seamless migration of applications and workloads to the cloud — zero unplanned downtime, tested rollback at every stage.

Last updated: May 2025

Overview

Aezona has completed 500+ cloud migrations across AWS, Azure, and GCP. We handle the full lifecycle — from discovery and planning through cutover and post-migration tuning — with zero unplanned downtime and a tested rollback at every stage.

Migration types

Lift and shift (Rehost)

Move workloads to cloud VMs with minimal changes. Fastest time-to-cloud, with optimisation deferred post-migration. Suitable for applications where refactoring is not justified by the business case.

Replatform

Move to cloud-native managed services — e.g., migrating a self-managed MySQL database to RDS, or moving a VM-based app to containers on EKS. Moderate effort, significant operational benefit.

Refactor / Re-architect

Redesign the application to take full advantage of cloud-native capabilities — serverless, auto-scaling, managed queuing. Highest effort, highest long-term value. Undertaken when existing architecture is a constraint on growth.

Retire / Replace

Decommission end-of-life systems or replace with SaaS alternatives. Aezona handles data migration, integration cutover, and decommission verification.

Our migration methodology

Workload assessment and discovery

Inventory all applications, dependencies, data volumes, and integration points. Each workload is categorised by complexity and assigned a migration strategy (rehost, replatform, refactor, or retire).

Migration planning and phasing

Build a phased migration plan that sequences workloads by risk and dependency. Non-critical workloads migrate first to validate the process before production systems are touched.

Application refactoring

Where replatforming or refactoring is in scope, Aezona engineers make the necessary code and configuration changes. All changes are tracked in Git and reviewed before deployment.

Live cutover with blue-green

Production cutover uses a blue-green approach — both environments run in parallel until the new environment is validated. Cutover is a DNS or load-balancer flip, reversible in under 5 minutes.

Post-migration validation

Automated smoke tests and synthetic monitoring validate the migrated environment. Performance is benchmarked against the pre-migration baseline.

Performance benchmarking

Cloud-native performance targets are set and measured. Right-sizing recommendations are applied within the first 30 days post-migration based on actual usage data.

What makes a safe migration

Rollback at every stage

Every migration stage has a tested rollback procedure documented before work starts. We don't progress to the next stage until the current rollback has been verified.

Data integrity

All data migrations include a verification step — row counts, checksums, or application-level consistency checks — before the source is decommissioned. Data is never deleted until the destination is confirmed correct.

Supported migration patterns

PatternExample
On-premises → AWSVMware VMs migrated using AWS MGN
On-premises → AzureHyper-V workloads migrated with Azure Migrate
AWS → GCPCross-cloud database and compute migration
Monolith → KubernetesContainerisation and EKS deployment
Self-managed DB → RDS/Cloud SQLDatabase lift to managed service
Bare metal → cloud-nativeFull application re-architecture

Migration included in plans

Cloud Migration services are included in Business and Enterprise plans as part of the managed services package. For Professional customers, migration is available as a scoped add-on engagement.
